Final Reflection
I like to describe my style as semi-realistic and bright. I love using bright colors. I define success as loving what you create. It doesn't have to be good to anyone else but you. What matters is that you love your work and you enjoy what you're doing. It's also making others happy with what you do. When I make a piece of art for someone, seeing their smile is one of the best feelings in the world. I love it especially if I've drawn them. It makes people feel really special when they're drawn. They get to see themselves through someone else's eyes and and it's a huge confidence boost. I try to capture the essence of something when I draw. I try to evoke a certain, indescribable feeling that you get when you look at art. One of the biggest things I've learned through art is everything is beautiful and nothing is black and white. The world is complex and intricate, there are layers of life, difference points of view, and art is literally everywhere you look.

The two lessons I felt were most beneficial too me where the pastel eggs and the practice portrait.
I really liked working with the pastels for the eggs because it was really fun and I could see how certain colors came together. I liked doing the practice portrait of myself because it was good practice for the project. I got a feel for my features and I was able to see what I needed to improve on and what I was already good at. |
I felt my "Look at that View!" could have been better. It looks very empty and sloppy. The scale is all over the place, it looks nothing like the reference photo. I did get sick during this project and ended up having to rush it. If this were to happen again I would try to work on it at home, as well as I can. I would also try to manage my time better while working on two projects at once.
